"Have you finished listening to the audiobook of Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt's Dracula The Undead?" Justine asks the Vampire Lord.
"Blah," he affirms. "It was interesting at first, but it jumped the shark about halfway through" The Vampire Lord tries to mix thoughtfulness with snarkiness in his review (possible spoilers ahead!):
"It went downhill when they reflexively introduced Bram Stoker as a character. It was very revisionist, and the plot twists were quite predictable." Sighing, he continues, laughing: "At one point, there was Matrix-style kung fu fighting. I kid you not." (I'm serious. You'll have to read or listen to the book.) "Gone are the days of old school Dracula vampires, in this new world of Twilight vampires," he laments.
"Does the story somehow redeem itself in the end?" Justine optimistically asks.
"Blah," the Vampire Lord ambiguously replies.
It is a gray day to be an old school legend/book/movie vampire.
