A "Winning" Formula

1. Create straw men of your opponents.
2. Persuade others to believe the straw men are your opponents.
3. Defeat the straw men.
4. Your opponents lose, at least in the eyes of the people.
5. You win. Sort of.

Now, this sort of thing doesn't work well in physical battles, like combat and sports. But I'm told it works quite well in the realm of public opinion, like representative democracies and riot mobs. I'm also told that credit for this goes to someone named Karl Rove, but that would make him at least 2500 years old.
